The boil water advisory in Logan Lake will be in place until at least Friday afternoon.
That’s according to CAO Randy Lambright, who says officials are hoping to do further testing on the water.
“Right now we’ve been relying on the 24 hour testing,” he said. “We do need what’s called the three day testing to get the lab results back from that. It is our hope that Friday we’ll have additional information from the full meal analytical test results by then.”
In addition to drinking water, Lambright says they’ve had to close their water park because of the advisory.
“That’s a recreational activity impacted that which we’re not happy about. I think the school district is taking some positive steps to assist their students,” Lambright added. “As well, feeding water to pets, it’s totally up to the owner whether or not they feel comfortable boiling water before feeding it to the pets.”
Officials still suspect maintenance work is to blame, but they are not sure just yet.
“The majority of the residents are taking it in stride. I think they are responding admirably to it,” Lambright said. “We have had some comments where folks want some more specifics, I wish we could be more specific. We don’t want to speculate because we don’t want to send out false information or incorrect information.”
The boil water advisory came into effect on Saturday.
