The Executive Director of the Kamloops Food Bank says they are grateful for a $10,000 donation from Sun Peaks Resort.
The donation was announced last week after Sun Peaks had to reschedule High Five Day to April due to the weather.
And Bernadette Siracky says the resort will be presenting them with a cheque today.
“Unprecedented this year, not enough snow. What did Sun Peaks do as a good corporate citizen?” she said. “They realized how big of a fundraiser [High Five Day] is for us, and they didn’t want us to feel the loss of that event.”
Sun Peaks is also hosting a food drive at the resort this weekend.
“A time of year that we really are in need. That was all on them,” Siracky added. “We did not ask them to do that. They gave us a call and said, ‘guess what? We’re not going to leave you without this donation.’ So thank you Sun Peaks.”
