The Fraser-Nicola MLA says of a major TV show is creating a buzz in her home community of Ashcroft.
Jackie Tegart was commenting on the CBS Series Twilight Zone taking over the downtown to film part of its second season, with production set to wrap up on Friday.
“We’re pleased to be hosting. We loved to have those people in our community and I can’t wait to see the actual show that comes out of that,” she said. “There’s nothing like being able to point to places in the movie or in a television show and go, ‘Oh, that’s where I live.”
There are about 175 cast and crew members in town for the production, and Tegart says the economic impact is significant for hotels, restaurants and other businesses during this time of year.
“It makes an incredible in a small community and to the businesses there,” noted Tegart. “It’s absolutely great to be welcoming the crew that have been in there building the set. I know its caused a lot of buzz in the community about whether its exactly like the church that we have down the road.”
Thompson Nicola Film Commission Victoria Weller previously told says Twilight Zone is one of a handful of projects happening in the region, with about four projects happening in the area this winter.
