A Williams Lake man has been charged with several offences after he was arrested in Kamloops earlier this week.
Kurt Leo Kujannek, 28, is charged with failing to stop a motor vehicle while being pursued by police; possession of a stolen truck; dangerous driving; and resisting or obstructing a police officer.
Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Const. Crystal Evelyn says Kujannek was remanded into custody with a court appearance on Monday, Dec. 20.
Around 10:30 a.m. this past Tuesday, Evelyn says a Kamloops RCMP officer spotted a blue truck that had allegedly fled from police in Ashcroft. That same truck, she says, had been involved in a fuel theft investigation around 6:45 a.m. in Williams Lake, after it had been reported stolen from the same community.
Evelyn says police in Kamloops had to use a spike belt on the highway near Dallas before the truck came to a stop near Hook Road.
The driver of that truck was taken to custody after allegedly attempting to flee on foot from the scene.
